Compassion Katy refers to the following agencies to help secure assistance for families and individuals in need.  These agencies also may have volunteer opportunities for those interested in giving back to the community.  If you cannot find an organization in the list below that offers the type of assistance you are seeking, please contact 211 and they may be able to help point you in the right direction.

Act of Life- Educating and equipping the community regarding adoption.

The Arc of Katy - Serves the special needs population and their families.

Bo’s Place - Provides support to grieving families.

The Breath of Life Clinic - Provides quality medical care to uninsured and under-insured children.

Brookwood Community – Provides Spiritual, Educational and Vocational opportunities for adult with special needs.

Catholic Charities of Fort Bend County- Meeting a wide range of needs: adoption and foster care, seniors, food and financial assistance, counseling services, disaster recovery, immigration legal assistance, housing, AIDS ministry and immigrant and refugees.

Career and Recovery Resources- Education and employment assistance.

Child Advocates of Fort Bend - Advocate for abused and neglected children through the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program and public awareness.

Christ Clinic Katy- Offers acute care and chronic health care services to those who are uninsured.

Christ Outdoors – Provides outdoor experiences for at risk youth.

Christus St. Catherine Hospital – Medical Care Facility

Cinco Charities – Housing assistance for families of patients with life threatening illnesses.

Fort Bend Women’s Center – Provides assistance to women and children in need.

Home Aid Houston – Assists local non profits who support the homeless community.

Home Delivered Meals S. O. S. S. – Delivers meals to seniors in need.

Houston Area Red Cross- Assists with emergency response, help for needy, support and comfort for military families, international relief and volunteer training.

Interface Samaritan- Provides affordable counselling services to individuals.

Katy ArtReach – An art and educational outreach organization that brings mentors and art related programs to the underprivileged.

Katy Christian Ministries- Emergency financial assistance, food pantry, resale shops, domestic abuse and sexual assault crisis center.

Katy Heritage Society – Protects and preserves local historical sites.

Katy ISD The Bigger Picture – Provides mentors for at risk children attending KISD campuses.

Katy Library – Provides library services in the Katy area.

Katy Family YMCA- Puts Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirits, minds and bodies.

Katy Student Run – Youth mentoring through a half marathon training program.

Kissito Post Acute Cane Island – Opportunities to love elderly that are wards of the state.

Kosmos Coffee – Not for profit coffee shop that supports local and global causes.

Krause Children’s Center – Residential treatment facility for youth ages 13-17.

Literacy Council of Fort Bend – Provides literacy training, basic literacy and English language classes, GED prep and citizenship classes.

Lone Star Legal – Provides legal aid to Texas residents.

Lunches of Love – A not-profit that provides free nutritious sack lunches during extended school hours.

Oakmont Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center- Inpatient nursing care for the elderly.

Pregnancy Help Center of West Houston- Helps affirm life by assisting women and their families during crisis and unplanned pregnancies, parenting classes, counseling and prayer, and other assistance.

Tools 4 Life - Provides encouragement and mentoring to at risk teens.

The Blood Center – Gulf Coast area Blood Bank.

The Rose - Provides mammography services to women and support to breast cancer patients.

St. Vincent De Paul – Provides assistance to families in need through their social services ministry.
