What is Katy ServeFest?

Katy ServeFest is an annual outreach event of Compassion Katy. The purpose of ServeFest is to unite the churches in the Katy area to make a difference in our community for Christ through various service projects.

Do I need to sign up?

Yes, you can register here.

Can children participate?

Yes, families are encouraged to serve together. Please understand that certain locations may have different age requirements; and ALL of our locations are active work sites and may have some hazardous conditions for young children if not adequately supervised.  All minors MUST have a responsible adult onsite for the duration of their work day.

I do not attend one of the partnering churches. Can I still participate?

Yes! We encourage churches in the area to partner with us, but anyone is welcome to participate in Katy ServeFest. If you invite a friend, make sure they register online.

Where do I go on the day of the event, and what time should I be there?

On the day of the event, check in will be at Creech Elementary Parking lot on Mason Rd.  You will then be dispatched to your worksite.  ServeFest starts at 9:00am and will go until approximately 4:00pm.

I can’t work the entire day, can I still participate?

We encourage people to stay until all of the projects are completed, but we understand that some people are not able to do so. Come for as long as you can, because we will miss you when you’re gone!

Do I need to bring a sack lunch?

No, we will provide a free lunch for each volunteer.
Special note:  Chick-fil-a has graciously donated lunch for all of our volunteers, so if you have a peanut allergy, you will need to bring an alternate meal for yourself.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

You will be notified before the event if your project will require additional materials that we cannot provide. If you do end up bringing something, please make sure your name and phone number are clearly written on it in case it gets misplaced.  We also require each participant to have a signed work release form, you may print it here:  Compassion Katy 2012 Work Release or we will have copies on site the day of the event to fill out.
