Katy ServeFest Spring 2014 Results:
We had over 380 volunteers from 15 churches over three weekends at five sites for our 2014 Spring ServeFest. That equaled over $50,000 in volunteer labor alone! It was exciting to see the happy faces at Sundown Elementary School and Kainos Community Church as volunteers worked hard to paint, landscape, and complete many construction, plumbing, and electrical projects.
YMCA’s Camp Cinco hosted over 200 volunteers. The difference could be seen in the tidy trails, new mulch, beautiful picnic tables, and new paint. Fort Bend Women’s Center received similar benefits as volunteers worked hard to transform various parts of the center with fresh paint and various hands-on projects. We also had a small contingent of hard-workers join Habitat for Humanity as they raised the walls on three houses.
It is amazing to see the difference we can make when we all join together to be a transformational presence in our community. Watch for details. We will be having ServeFest again September 20th! Thank you for stepping up to make a difference.
